The integrated approach expands the scope of learning and goes beyond ‘just the textbook’. Where Pre-Primary goes with learning by doing and fun at learning theme while other grades go much beyond that.
English is not a subject but a language, lively and dynamic. The English faculties seeks to inspire a love of the language within the students. All kinds of writing goes on from formal class works to individual & group projects, from grammatical exercises to the writing and analyzing of poetry. Most importantly though, we want the students to discover the fantastic words that lie within the pages of good books. Same concept apply for Hindi & Sanskrit languages.
Geography is concerned with the study of places, the human and physical processes that shape them and the people who live in them. It helps students to make sense of their surroundings and the wider world. At SDAwe aim to :
– Stimulate curiosity about the natural and human world.
– Introduce students to people, places and environments.
-Contribute to environmental education and education for sustainable development.
History at SDA is a vibrant discipline that can offer myriad insights into the world we live in and the people who have lived in it. We try to give each student a sense of History and hope that the subject can also be fun.
From his/her study of mathematics a child will be prepared to take a place in the world of science or finance, should that become a chosen field; however the Maths Department seeks to ensure that, above all, a child should enjoy the time spent in the math labs /classroom. He/she should gain the ability to think logically and to feel at ease in the application and meaning of numbers and spatial relationships while gaining genuine pleasure in the studies with mental math.
Artwork provides a backdrop to many areas of school life. In cross-curricular work using illustration and graphics, posters and programmes for plays and concerts, project books and presentations, Art and Design is acknowledged as the foundation of how we communicate in words and pictures and is highly valued.
We recognize that ICT has now become an important part of our everyday lives. It is therefore essential that we play our part not only in introducing students to the technology of today but also in providing them with the knowledge, skills and understanding so that they can assume a productive role in the world of tomorrow. Computer education begins from class I. In kindergarten computers are used as teaching aids.
